Creative Lead / UI Design

Client: JSP®
Agency Popcomms
Project: Interactive Touchscreen (Progressive Web App)
Role: Creative Lead

Background:
JSP® is internationally recognised as the leading manufacturer of innovative 'above the neck' Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) specialising in Head, Eye, Face and Respiratory Protection.

My role for this project was to create conceptual directions that the final design would follow on from. As the client does not have an effective brand aesthetic, one main issue was to overcome this and use the project as an example for future JSP brand implementation.

Design:
The user journey begins with the splash pages (see slideshow) for each of the product section where JSP can help you find the perfect helmet, hearing, respiratory, working at height and eye protection. These pages were designed to be bold with abstract views of each product and bright colour schemes based on the brand’s secondary colour palette. Each product section is colour coded.

The JSP Showroom

There is a product showroom at their main facility in Oxfordshire that is used to exhibit all the JSP products and to carry out industry certified training events for existing and prospective clients. Within this space, the need for interactive touchscreens was identified to help aid the exploration and understanding of the wide range of JSP products and services.

Above is an image that illustrates how I developed the final design from original concepts. It is important that the creative process is also viewable.

Outcome:
The was extremely happy as the project went far beyond their expectations. The experience has been used by the sales team via iPads as a mobile sales tool. This was not the intended outcome of the brief but it shows that the design approach created an opportunity for greater creative results and and increased the clients satisfaction.
