Background:
The Bristol Art District BID is mainly focused on Bedminster. The website has a focus on Upfest, which is Europe’s largest live street art festival and features over 150 murals from national, international and local Bristol artists.
The online resource allows visitors to discover over 40 creative businesses from galleries and theatres to bars which are pieces of art in themselves! Vistors ca follow the mural trails, buy from local businesses and explore one of Bristol’s oldest neighbourhoods.
Design:
The design style incorporates angular shapes were inspired from a the map outlines of the Bedminster Art District area itself. These elements have been used as highlight and background textures to give the layouts a sense of depth and movement. The content is laid out in easy to read sections and the level of interactivity has been kept to a minimum as this website is targeted at a mass audience who will seek to gain information quickly and efficiently.
Outcome:
The new version of the website was well received by the client and stakeholders including local businesses and grass roots organisations. It was seen as a huge improvement form the previous design with its clean yet edgy design and accessible content layout.
